Welcome to the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) website. APPA is a forum for privacy authorities in the Asia Pacific region. It gives privacy authorities in the region an opportunity to form partnerships, discuss best practices and to share information on emerging technology, trends and changes to privacy regulation.

Communiqué from the 46th APPA Forum in Mexico
The 46th APPA Forum was hosted by the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection (INAI), Mexico, on 30 November - 2 December 2016. During the two day forum, APPA members, invited observers and guests discussed a range of matters including:
- the right to privacy and personal data protection
- international cooperation
- self-regulation schemes
- effective dispute resolution mechanisms
- national security, surveillance and law enforcement.

Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities welcome new member Philippines
Victoria, BC, Canada — The Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) are pleased to welcome the Philippine’s National Privacy Commission (NPC) as a new member.
The National Privacy Commission is the 20th privacy and data protection authority to join APPA. It will participate as a full member for the first time at the 46th APPA Forum in Mexico on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd.
